*My all time Favourite Fashion Campaigns*

Fashion campaigns are amongst some of the most pathbreaking, controversial, and exquisite advertisements.
These images undeniably exude a particular lifestyle which is very hard to miss.
Here is a selection of my favourite fashion campaigns over the years-

Anju Modi- WIFW Spring Summer '11

Rikshaw Project by FDCI and NIFT

FDCI recently approached 50 designers to create rikshaws in collaboration with NIFT students. Initially, these rikshaws were meant to be displayed at the Commonwealth Games, however, they were instead displayed at the recent Wills Lifestyle Fashion Week in Pragati Maidan.
I was lucky to be part of this project, and worked with designers Anjana and Ankita Bhargava, and Pooja Chatterjee to create an original design for our rikshaw. We conceptualized our rikshaw as a modern Indian woman, and created an interesting couture hair-do inspired by the traditional Indian bun or 'jooda'. We worked with many materials like acrylic, aluminium and wire mesh to put together our rikshaw.
Here is a photo of the finished rikshaw on display at Fashion Week-

Vogue July 2010 Cover- Mr and Mrs Bachchan

This one took my breath away. For years, this star couple have had an awkward, even slightly mismatched image in the print media. But this one image has shattered right through that perception and puts them straight on through to an Adam and Eve like pedestal. Perfectly complimenting each other with their beauty and chiseled looks, together they create the classic image of lovers- charming and fair Aishwarya resting on the ruggedly handsome Abhishek. The styling too is spot on. This is exactly what I call a treat for sore eyes!

VHIMW 2010- Karan Johar and Varun Bahl

Yes, you read it right. The Karan Johar of Bollywood fame, has teamed up with designer Varun Bahl to create a menswear collection- the essense of which is comparable to the films he directs- international in nature and a tad flamboyant. However, that same element of glamour takes this collection away from the mundane and well beyond trashy to a middle ground where the Indian male is sure to find his niche. Interpreting global trends like the blazer teamed up with tailored shorts, sepia toned prints, this collection hits the mainstream jackpot. The result- a relatively safe, semi-formal look, but with a cutting edge of style.

VHIMW 2010- Day 2- ANKY by Ankita and Anjana Bhargava

Van Heusen India Men's Fashion Week
Venue- The Grand, New Delhi
'Anky' by Ankita and Anjana Bhargava
Reinvented Classic- Despite being an oxymoron in itself, the mother daughter designer duo pulled off this collection splendidly. The colour white took centrestage here, offset by beige, cream, and ivory. Guaze jackets paired with drop crotch trousers, kurta inspired shirts with pashmina shorts, the melange of elements worked successfully in exuding a sophisticated, organic, yet crisp look. 'Anky' has pointed a way forward for the Indian male- masculine silhouettes with an acquired grace!
